JUNE 24, 2008
It has been brought to my attention that I have no right to tell other people to update. Honestly, I've avoided the updating because (one) I've been too lazy to turn on my laptop (it's where the magic happens) and (two) this past week has been terrible.

So my apartment complex has mice running through the walls and it was last Wednesday night that I first heard them inside my apartment. I didn't manage to report it to the apartment management until Friday morning, but to this day, a week later, the holes in my walls have still not been fixed. I've been calling everyday trying to get someone down here and I was told that someone would come today, but it is 5PM and no one has come. It's ridiculously frustrating having to talk to someone that has to deal with unresponsive contractors and I'm doing my best at understanding this, but living with unwanted animals is not anything I've wanted. This whole experience has made me come to realize that there's nothing left here for me. There's no one immediately in Austin that I can go to for help. I just want to hurry and finish school, graduate for real, and go somewhere else, live in a home that's not shitting bugs and rodents.

I just talked to a someone dealing with the rodent problem and he said that the holes on the apartment exterior have been closed and the interior should be fixed first thing tomorrow. He is not happy that the contractor did not come by today, but if nothing before noon tomorrow, I am to call him. This better get fixed. I'm spending way too much money on living here to put up with this, too much money on fast food because I can't eat here.

I really am just a crying mess. It doesn't help that I'm a bit crampy, doesn't help that my bites seem to be back. Why can't I go back to being normal, healthy, happy. That's all I want. And not to be fucking scared to sleep in my apartment.

Nina and Dad are safely back from Hong Kong and I wish I was either (one) at home with them and the baby or (two) Nina was up here to hang. This will be a long (but fast) summer.

There's not really much left I can do, but something is missing. All the shopping I do isn't helping either.
I'm okay.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.

I've been awake since 3.30AM, it is only 8.45AM and I've already made a small trip to the grocery store. I can't blame it all on still being jetlagged; I thought I was over it. Unfortunately, my bedtime last night was accidentally 11PM while watching television. Tonight is dinner and Ladytron. Surely a nap before then.

Back in Austin, Texas, back at school, back to the heat.

Though I never really left the heat escaping to Hong Kong for two weeks. Temperatures lowered, humidity increased and no air conditioning nearly kills. That was pretty much my entire first week of my 'vacation' but once my dad and Nina arrived, things got better. Window unit was plugged in and other shopping areas were visited. I hardly have any photos from the trip but we hardly did any sight-seeing. Posed people pictures here. Some are beautifully posed.

I didn't have time to get a haircut but did get some new frames (not blind anymore!) as well as two tailored suits. Professional me, here I come. I need to find a job.

There is a lot of construction going on at my apartment complex and it is very distracting. And I just heard probably the most disgusting cough/hock/spit combination possible. Maybe this person is throwing up outside. (gross!) I wish they'd come and fix my apartment leak problem that seems to have destroyed some baseboards. Also, I wish my air conditioner was colder, it's so warm in here!

Dentist appointment! I hadn't been to the dentist in a very long while and of course I come back with them telling me I need to get all of my wisdom teeth out and I don't have the thousand dollars it's going to cost me. I just wanted to get my teeth cleaned, which I didn't even get today, just x-rays. Doctor visits, insurance, money issues, ugh. I went to see the doctor for my bites and he told me I should get a mole removed. The optomologist said I needed laser surgery to prevent retina detachment. The dentist said I needed to get teeth extracted, and to consider braces. I have a small mouth full of crowded teeth. Money. Do people usually do everything doctors tell them to, because my family doesn't have that kind of money.

This is my birthday week! Hurray!

Oh yeah, I managed to finally get a proper mail box at the post office, though I was required to pay for six months even though I only need it for the rest of the summer. It is officially: P.O. Box 7215, Austin, Texas 78713.
